Zitto na Ruge wazungumzia kodi katika biashara ya muziki – Diva255

Mtangazaji wa Ala za Roho wa Clouds FM, Loveness Diva kupitia website yake amewauliza maswali mbunge Zitto Kabwe, rapper Hamis Mwinjuma aka Mwana FA na Ruge Mutahaba kuhusiana na malipo ya kodi katika tasnia ya muziki nchini.

Diva255: How do you feel about the taxation in the music industry?

Zitto: Taxation of the entertainment industry not music industry is the Process of formalizing the industry; this will help to end Piracy.

It is results of my Personal efforts to help young artists following the tragedy faced by Sajuki and The Song I participated.

Ruge Mutahaba briefed me about the sector and in April 2012 session of Parliament I Committed the Government to formalize the sector through tax.In june 2012 the finance committee meeting, The government forgot its commitment and i as shadow minister threatened to boycott then the minister head my call and agreed with me and the statement was made in Parliament.

Then during finance bill we enacted an Excise duty and Jan 2013 is coming and artists, in the music and film are going to benefit from it.This measure isn’t about raising government revenue but it is about formalizing the entertainment industry. This is a revolution and I am Proud.I am happy to be part of the Revolution.

Diva255: How does taxation affect your concerts, shows?! Example bands and managers?

RUGE MUTAHABA:Concerts are normal business activities, it’s the same tax structure, why should it be different??? People pay vat, withholding tax etc.

Diva255: How do you make income through concerts?

MWANAFA: I make income through tours and concerts, when we tour we do concerts. There are only 3 ways or 4 ways to make money for artists, we don’t sell albums like that in Tanzania for example my last album was in 2007 and we don’t sell singles as well, so strictly concerts and tours .
