South African Henri Van Schalkwk defeated other 76 aspirants to win the Miss Tourism Model of the World 2006 title in Dar es Salaam Saturday night.

South African Henri Van Schalkwk defeated other 76 aspirants to win the Miss Tourism Model of the World 2006 title in Dar es Salaam Saturday night.
Karina Silva from Angola finished second, while Gantogoo Bayarukhuu (Mongolia) came third.
The fourth place went to Renatha Nowak (Poland) as Croatian Paula Tomic finished fifth.
The First Lady Mama Salma Kikwete was the guest of honour at the event, staged at Ubungo Plaza.
Diplomats attached to Tanzania and government officials attended the event.
Witness Mwanwingi, Fania Hassan, Annia Said and Veronica Herman (Zanzibar) represented Tanzania. Manwingi won the ”Miss Personality Award”.
Zambia’s Martha Kamalata won the African Continent title. Other continental titles went to Chinese Mao Yuan (Asia) and Jamaican Linda Hudson (America).
Sri-Lanka’s Chulpadmendra Kumarapathirana won the ”Press” title.
Zimbabwean Lorraine Maphala won the ”Face of the Net Award”. Lin Yisyuan (Taipei) won the ”Miss Photogenic” title.
”Best Hair Style Award” went to Russian Anna Petrushko and ”Best Evening Wear Award” went to Mexican Rosalina Chavez.
Colombian Katherin Bruges won the ”Best Teen Model Award”and German Nitsche Hana won the ”Platinum Model Award”.
