Kili Music Awards 2012 Winners Tour
Tanzania Breweries Limited (TBL)under Kilimanjaro Premium Lager which is the official sponsor of the Kili Music Awards has today launched the Kili Music Winners Tour at a media press conference held at the JB Belmont Hotel in Dar es Salaam Tanzania. The tour will feature auditions to discover underground artistes in addition to the concerts that will be held in Dodoma, Mwanza, Kilimanjaro, Mbeya and Mtwara. The finale of this tour will be the Dar es Salaam Concert where Tanzanian artistes will perform in a mega celebration of local music.
The concerts will feature winners of the 2012 Kili Music Awards who will be curtain raised by regional underground artists to be identified during the regional auditions. The exercise is part of the Kili brands efforts to promote home based artistes and appreciate Tanzanians¹ support of the Kili
Music Awards.
We want to eliminate the perception that Kili music awards is a Dar centered event. This year, we will not only take the winners to perform at concerts, but we will also conduct auditions in the 5 towns to identify new talent who will perform alongside the Tanzanian music stars said the Kilimanjaro Premium Larger Brand Manager, George Kavishe.
Among the artistes expected to tour the country are winners including Diamond, Khadija Kopa, Suma Lee, Warriors from the East, Ali Kiba, AT, Aisha Msharuzi, Twanga Pepeta, Ben Pol, Roma, Ommy Dimples, Kalijo Kitokololo, Jaguar, Barnaba amongst others. Diamond who won the best song writer, best
video and best male performer stated, ‘I am very excited to be a part of this year¹s tour, this is a great opportunity for me to meet my fans in the regions and appreciate their support by performing live for them. This explosive tour will not only increase appreciation of local music, but will also unite Tanzanians in an expression of national pride in appreciating true Tanzanian talent.
The concerts will start in Dodoma on the 28th April (Jamuhuri Stadium),Mwanza on 5th May(CCM Kirumba),Kilimanjaro 12th May (Ushirika Stadium),Mbeya 19th May (Sokoine Stadium), Mtwara 26th May (Mtwara Stadium) with the highlight being the Dar es Salaam concert on the 2nd of June (leaders club).
Auditions will take place in the 5 regional towns a weekend before the Concert dates with the first being held in Dodoma on the 22nd and 23rd of April (Club 84), Mwanza on the 29 and 30th April (Villa Park), Kilimanjaro on the 6th and 7th May (Mr. Price- Moshi), Mbeya on the 13th and 14th of May (Vibes) and Mtwara on the 20th and 21st of May (Maisha club).
We call upon Tanzanians with talent to come to the auditions and get an opportunity to develop their talent. We will pick 5 winners from each of the 5 regions who we will mentor and support in recording their first singles said Mr. Kavishe. The judges at the auditions are Professor Jay, Juma Nature
and Queen Darleen.
The aim of these auditions is to discover fresh talent from the regions who we will nurture to become future national stars,hopefully more women musicians emerge to fill in the demand for more female
Tanzanian artistes said Prof Jay.
The auditions, concerts and highlights of the winners tour will be televised on EATV to enable all of Tanzania to follow the proceedings of this one of a kind tour.

The Kili Winners tour is a scale up of the annual Kili Music Awards. The tour is an effort at the appreciation of local musical talent by bringing National music stars to the grassroots. The main goal of the tour is to promote Tanzanian music by showcasing national talent in the regions and
bringing a national focus to the annual Kili Music Awards.
