These resent so called "boycotts" in UDSM do they really represent true rightoussness? Or is just a way of venting your anger towards the society?
Maybe i shouldn't just point the finger at someone as everyone else, but i really can relate to these university students. I mean lets take a look at the history of almost every Tanzania child who's lucky enough to go to school:
Each one of has a toal of THIRTEEN years of schooling where one is unable to express him/herself, gets beaten almost everyday most of the times for no reason at all!! we aren't listened to by anyone at school and probably at home even!!
And in those 13 years of sheer torture we are kept under a tight leash and our mouths closed, but once we enter the realms of the GREAT UNIVERSITY we are set free!! Picture this: A lion is locked in a cave and deprived of everything even it's freedom to roar, it's harressed and humiliated in evry possible way! But then after sometime it's set free!! What do you think would happen huh??? Obviously ALL HELL WILL SET LOOSE!!
And thats exactly whats happening to our university right now.
I mean!! seriously, do you think those students who caused havoc in UDSM resently have no water shortage at their homes?? Or that when their fathers or mothers can't pay the water bill do they boycott and destroy everything in sight??
But also i would like to insist on the fact that these university students as they call themselves aren't matured enough to think wisely!! Do you think a fully matured adult would act recklessly as they did? I'm sure if these people wouldn't have done what they did, if they knew the true hardship of life, cause if they did they'd know how hard it is to earn your own sweat!!

Nice observation Rossyb! ...thus immature and easily persuaded by peer pressure. How can this be changed?
* I think High School students should be made to volunteer for civil services at various institutions and companies, during their last year.

Could it be human nature of 'taking out at something else?', possibly, subconciously?

it's a goodd idea!!! people should realise the hardwork put into anyones property! even if its illegal!
and yes almost everyone in onr way or the other vents!! its human nature but a person should be able to vent in a healthy way! for example do sports, write poems or angry letters( but don't post it!!) stuff like that will help you face life the wise way!!

yes there are but are not used. So its up to the school facilities should motivate the students

Competition is aphrosidiac to sports ... inter-campus and inter-university games would do the trick ... the question is, do universities and campuses leaders have balls to make it happen?
